Our 24th Christmas Trailer raffle is at the Elizabeth City Shopping Centre. We’ll be selling tickets there until December 18, 2016 with the raffle being drawn on Dec 19, 2016. All money raised is used for community projects. Please drop by to support our work in the community by buying tickets at $2 each.
The first trailer raffle was run midyear 1992 when Rotarians were looking for a new way raise funds for the community. Observations from local raffles made it clear that an attractive and unique prize could be a trailer filled with new household and gardening goods. Tickets were priced at $2 (same price as today) and those Rotarians would be delighted to know that we expect to reach a cumulative total of money raised over the years of $400,000 by the closing date this year.hello
The trailer was moved to different shopping centres around Elizabeth weekly and tickets sold rapidly. From that success, the club decided to print more tickets and run the raffle in the weeks leading up to Christmas the following year. The raffle has now been successful for 24 years. All funds raised have been spent on community projects, locally, nationally and overseas.
