Refurbishment of the Rotary Lookout and Jo Gapper Park

If you have visited Jo Gapper Park recently you will have seen the recent upgrade to the Rotary Lookout, Dog Park, walking trails, barbecue area and children’s playground completed by the Playford City Council through a government grant. Since 1999 Elizabeth Rotary has had some involvement with this area. To read of our contribution, written by Past President Reg Driver, click here.

City of Playford – Be Active – Mobile Food Co-op
Club members at the opening of the Mobile Food Coop with Mayor Glenn Docherty

The Club raised $7000 to support the project. The Mobile Service is one of three Food Cooperatives running in the Playford area. The kitchen area of the Munno Para Food Coop was furnished by funding from our Club on a previous occasion.

City of Playford – Be Active – Fremont Park
Exercise equipment for young and old!

Fremont Park is one of City of Playford’s most beautiful recreation and leisure facilities. Centrally located near the Elizabeth City Centre, the picturesque park features a large lake with fountain and waterfalls, a rotunda area for band performances, and offers two colourful playgrounds to capture any child’s adventurous spirit.

Being active does not have to be expensive, with Fremont Park offering free access to outdoor gym equipment along the “be active” trail.

Our Club has been pleased to be involved with the ‘Be Active’ project, contributing towards exercise equipment, shade-cloth and seating.

The area is used by all ages, and is an area of which we are proud to have supported.
