March Northern Business Breakfast

“Has the housing bubble burst? Housing affordability, the housing market and economic growth for SA over the next three years?”

Our guest speaker Mr Andrew Mills, CFO – HomeStart Finance, will bring a unique insight of the sector, the pressure it is under and the future of the big housing developments that may help grow the northern suburbs population.

The March Northern Business Breakfast is on Wednesday 25th March 2020, 7am – 8.30am, at Playford Bowling Club, 16 Goodman Road, Elizabeth.

The session will explore the Housing and Building sectors of the SA economy and the direction for the Northern Suburbs. The building and construction industry is a key driver for our state and its economy.

About our speaker and HomeStart….

Andrew Mills, Chief Financial Officer, HomeStart Finance

HomeStart is an agency of the SA government with the purpose of making home ownership a reality for more people in more ways. It does this by offering lower deposit home loans to South Australian home buyers, innovative home finance products, and subsidised finance options for low-moderate income earners. Established in 1989, the organisation has helped over 75,000 families into home ownership and currently provides home loans to around 1 in 5 first home buyers in SA. HomeStart is also a major player in financing the construction of new homes in South Australia, and is on track this year to fund around 500 new dwellings including many in the northern suburbs. The organisation has an office at Salisbury, in addition to the city and Morphett Vale, and also makes loans available through a network of around 700 mortgage brokers.

Andrew has a background in financial markets, consulting, strategy and financial product innovation. Prior to his appointment as HomeStart’s Chief Financial Officer in December 2019 he was Head of Customers & Origination, responsible for distribution channels, product development, strategy and marketing. He has a particular interest and connection with the northern suburbs of Adelaide, and strongly believes in the opportunities home ownership can bring to individuals and communities.
