Garden Party

The Rotary Club of Elizabeth combined with the Rotary Club of Playford for a Garden Party at Lesley and Robin Trevilyan’s home on Sunday November 4th.  Lesley, member of Elizabeth Club had proposed the idea in the previous year; this Rotary year her husband Robin is President of Playford Club, so it was an ideal arrangement.  The charity decided on by both clubs for support from this function was the Royal Flying Doctor Service, and with donations from both clubs and with ticket sales, a donation of $1000 was forwarded to the RFDS. “CyberCrime – Is your businesses at risk? Thinking it won’t happen to you?”

Over the last 25 years Shane King has worked in the UK, Sydney and Adelaide for the Ministry of Defence as well as world class vendors such as Hewlett-Packard, 3PAR and NetApp as a backup/data protection consultant. Clients have included the UK Prime Minister’s Office, UK government security agencies as well as a diverse range of large enterprises in the banking and commercial sector.

Shane currently works as a senior consultant for Loftus, an Adelaide-based IT Service provider that will be celebrating 25 years next year serving well-known local companies. Shane is responsible for the Loftus Security Awareness training programme and has provided this training to clients such as Beerenberg, City of Mitcham Council and Key Invest to reduce their chance of becoming victims of cybercrime. Shane is also a semi-professional magician but has promised not to make your data disappear!

“Trade, Tourism and Investment : our agenda to grow business in the Northern Suburbs”

David will speak to the new Marshall Liberal Governments focus within the Trade, Tourism and Investment portfolio with specific reference to the Northern Suburbs.
David will take questions from the audience after speaking.

Biography

Following its success at the March 2018 State Election, David was appointed Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment in Premier Steven Marshall’s Ministry.

David grew up in the community of Wolseley, South East and has a long established history with his family farm which grew and diversified under his control. He has travelled extensively through rural and regional communities of South Australia. It was this experiences which developed his understanding of business and exports..

David first won a seat in the states Legislative Council in 2002.
